A Cook County SSDI Attorney Who Cares

If, like most working Americans, you have had Social Security taxes regularly taken out of your paychecks, you deserve to get that money back in the event you become disabled. Unfortunately, the Social Security Administration (SSA) often seems more than reluctant to pay.

I am Timothy White, a Chicago Social Security Disability Insurance attorney with more than 18 years of experience in Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claims. My Chicago law firm has helped thousands of clients to apply for benefits and appeal denied claims. If you need guidance or assistance with a SSDI benefits matter, you can count on me.

The Basics Of Social Security Disability Insurance

The first thing the SSA needs to know is whether or not you have paid FICA taxes for at least five of the last 10 years prior to becoming disabled. If you have been irregularly employed, or not employed at all, you will not be entitled to SSDI benefits. However, you may still qualify for Supplemental Security Income benefits.

If you do meet the employment requirements, the SSA will then require proof that you have a medical impairment, disabling disease or other condition that makes it impossible for you to work.

Help With Every Step Of The Process

If you have not yet applied for SSDI benefits, I will review the paperwork and procedures with you and explain what to expect from the SSA. I can also contact the SSA directly and set up an appointment for you to apply.

If you receive letters from the SSA, I will go over them with you and help you to complete any questionnaires correctly.

If your initial claim is denied, I can help you appeal that denial and appeal other decisions. My law firm takes appeals all the way to federal court, when appropriate.

In preparation for a disability hearing with an administrative law judge, I work hard to gather every piece of evidence that will be useful to your case. I obtain medical records, doctors’ opinions, psychiatrists’ opinions and any other medical evidence that supports your disability claim.
